Collagen FAQs v2

What is collagen?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body that holds everything together. It is found in your bones, ligaments, tendons, connective tissues and skin, and plays a role in your overall health. Our body’s collagen production naturally
begins to slow down as we age which can cause wrinkles, sagging skin
and deceased cartilage. The word collagen comes from the Greek
word “kolla” meaning glue. Collagen literally acts like glue to
provide form and support for your body.

What types of collagen does Dose & Co products contain?

Dose & Co collagen creamers are made using bovine (cow or beef) collagen. Bovine collagen is made from type 1 and 3 collagen which are the most abundant types created and found in the human body. Bovine collagen is a rich supply of
proline and glycine which are important for creatine production and
helping to build muscle. Type 1 and 3 collagen both help to maintain
the structure and health of skin, bones, muscles, tendons,
ligaments and blood vessels. Both of these types are
found in the intestines, suggesting they play an
important role in gut health.
